Troubleshoot - Café Bellissimo Semi-Automatic Espresso

I purchased this machine last week and couldn’t get it to work. Anytime I tried to make an espresso, the machine would completely stop operating and I’d receive a message stating “Espresso Maker is Overpressure”. After dozens of attempts including just dispensing hot water, I contacted the seller and was able to get a full refund.

Since the seller allowed me to keep the machine, I’m still hoping to get it to work even though I don’t intend to keep it. Does anyone have any advice or experiences similar to this? Also, any recommendations on an espresso machine priced under $400? Thanks!
